The Coach Travel Group continues to assess its geographic coverage and identify locations where strategic acquisitions would strengthen its footprint, with a priority of expanding its presence in what is described as “a measured and commercially sustainable way.”
That forms part of the group’s work to position itself in the long-term “as the UK’s leading national coach transport platform.”
Although The Coach Travel Group has recently taken delivery of a small number of new vehicles in a corporate livery, it adds that those are to support national work and has underlined a commitment to maintaining the strength and identity of regional operations.
Since formation in 2024, The Coach Travel Group has completed acquisitions of multiple operators in the south of England. In July 2025, Chief Executive Tom Stables (pictured) told routeone that it had its eye on expansion into new areas, which he sees as important. Growth via purchase or the founding of new undertakings were not ruled out at that time.
Despite that, the group says that an increase in scale “must be balanced with local accountability.” Rather than rebranding constituent businesses under a central identity, it wishes to retain local relationships and operational knowledge while being able to support larger national contracts and multi-region opportunities.
Adds Mr Stables: “In this industry, utilisation, cost control and consistency are ongoing challenges. By working collaboratively while keeping decision-making close to the customer, we believe that we are building a stronger and more resilient national platform.”
Such a strategy is underpinned by a focus on what the group says is financial discipline, consistent engineering and compliance standards, and collaborative procurement across fuel, insurance, and other supply partnerships.
Group-wide KPIs have been introduced to improve visibility and benchmarking across engineering and operations, helping to raise standards while preserving operational autonomy within each business. Any future acquisitions “will prioritise cultural alignment and operational compatibility,” the group continues.
