Team members from EVM UK have raised £2,790 for Crawley Open House after they completed the Surrey Three Peaks Challenge.

It is a 16-mile route across varied terrain, including steep climbs and countryside trails. The organised event was delivered by Back On Track, which brings together individuals and businesses to raise funds for charitable causes.

Crawley Open House provides accommodation, training and outreach services to people experiencing homelessness, unemployment and social exclusion. EVM UK adds that while raising money for such a good cause was a priority, the test was also an opportunity to support each other and push personal limits during the day.

Box Hill (224m), Holmbury Hill (261m) and Leith Hill (294m) were each tackled, with the dealership noting that fatigue added a further layer of challenge. It has supported Crawley Open House for several years in what is described as “a continued commitment to community engagement” alongside core vehicle manufacturing and supply operations.

Staff-driven fundraising initiatives remain central to that approach for EVM UK, helping to build team cohesion while supporting causes connected to its local area.

Adds CEO Danny McGee (pictured, third from right): “It is great to be able to promote wellbeing while supporting important causes. We were very pleased with our time, finishing 90 minutes quicker than we had anticipated.

“We were very impressed with the trek organiser, Back On Track, and it recommended a walking challenge in the Yorkshire Dales – but with a busy year ahead, that will definitely need to be something for next year.”

EVM’s team in the UK is not the only part of the business that is active in fundraising for good causes.

Their efforts will be followed up by staff from the Kilbeggan factory in Ireland climbing Croagh Patrick in County Mayo, raising money for charity Barretstown in recognition of the work it does for children and families who are affected by cancer and other serious illnesses.
