Two decades of work towards zero-emissions transport will be celebrated at the Zemo Partnership 20th Anniversary Conference and Celebration at City Hall, London, on 15 June.
Featuring speakers, exhibitions, celebrity guests and entertainment, the non-profit partnership will gather for the first time in person since 2019, with virtual conferences held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
Among the main speakers is Chris Stark, Chief Executive of the Climate Change Committee, who will talk on “Delivering Net Zero Transport by 2050”. Seb Dance, Deputy Mayor of London for Transport and Deputy Chair of Transport for London, will deliver the introductory address. A government transport minister, devolved government ministers and regional mayors are also expected but are still to be confirmed.
Some 200 high-level delegates plus virtual guests are expected to attend an event hosted by Ginny Buckley, TV presenter, and Founder and CEO of Electrifying.com.
Also among the confirmed speakers so far are Philip Sellwood and Andy Eastlake, Chair and Chief Executive of the Zemo Partnership; Tim Deakin, routeone Editor; Lucy Parkin, Director of Environmental, Social & Governance at Kleanbus; and Tom Cunnington, Head of Buses Business Development at Transport for London.
Coinciding with National Clean Air Day and with Scania among the sponsors, the event will review 20 years of the Zemo Partnership’s collaboration between government, industry and experts, as well as looking ahead to accelerating progress towards zero-emissions targets.
Founded as Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership in 2003 and renamed in 2021, Zemo Partnership aims to achieve net-zero road emissions by 2050. It is an official partner of Better Transport Week, which will take place the week of the conference from 12-18 June.
