Transport Made Simple – formerly Vectare – has continued its favour of the EVM Cityline low-entry minibus for a variety of services with arrival of 15 more examples supplied by the EVM UK dealership.

They take to 34 the number of Citylines delivered to Transport Made Simple, following 19 previously purchased. The newcomers have 16 seats along with space for one standee, and room for one wheelchair user.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base vehicle used has the OM 654 engine and the 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox. USB charging points, wood-effect flooring and saloon air-conditioning are fitted, which EVM says give the minibuses “a luxury coach feel tailored for local bus and demand responsive transport (DRT) applications.”

Vectare was formed in 2016 by Dominic Kalantary and Peter Nathanail. It has grown rapidly and is now positioned as a provider of home-to-school and corporate transport solutions.

Mr Kalantary and Mr Nathanail subsequently acquired established operators Central Connect, Flagfinders and Simonds of Botesdale, and merged them into Transport Made Simple. It now trades separately to Vectare.

Arrival of the latest EVM Cityline fleet follows major investment in larger buses by Transport Made Simple. Speaking about the recent minibus procurement, Group Managing Director Mr Nathanail says: “We have always been impressed with the EVM Cityline because of the level of comfort it manages to package into an affordable and fuel-efficient vehicle.

“This new fleet is set to shake up public transport across our East Anglian network, with the vehicles earmarked for DRT schemes, some partnerships with new housing developers, and also for our prestigious Norwich Park-and-Ride network.”

Alongside the diesel Cityline, EVM offers the battery-electric e-Cityline model, now with a claimed range of over 300km.
