Transport Secretary Mark Harper has been confirmed to attend the launch event at Grindles Coaches for RHA’s National Coach Week on 8-12 April.
By visiting the Cinderford-based operator in his constituency, the MP for Forest of Dean will help kick-start a week-long series of events designed to promote the coach sector.
RHA will also use the Grindles visit to launch its updated manifesto for coach.
Now in its third year, this edition of National Coach Week is set to focus on careers and people.
RHA Operations Manager – Coach Sector Andy Warrender told routeone earlier this month: “This year, the focus on people will give coach operators, suppliers, manufacturers and other stakeholders the opportunity to highlight the opportunities within their businesses. People are vital to coaching, and we increasingly hear that the industry is governed in its ability to grow by the number of people within it.”
As part of the activities across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, RHA will deploy its coach simulator at its Peterborough office on 9 April. Sponsor Backhouse Jones will receive the driving simulator on 12 April as it makes its way towards Blackpool.
Lothian Motorcoaches will be involved to talk about its recruitment and retention policies, while Pelican Bus and Coach will promote its apprentice programme.
