Whitelaws of Stonehouse has completed an overhaul of its bus fleet with the delivery of a final four Volvo B8RLE single-deckers with MCV Evora bodywork. The latest additions are 10.8m examples that have been taken on a four-year operating lease, and they are among more than 20 buses to have been funded by Asset Alliance Group as part of that work.
Delivery of the new fleet commenced in July 2021. It is mainly used on services in South Lanarkshire and is entirely made up of Volvo products.
Whitelaws Managing Director Sandra Whitelaw says that the new Volvo MCV buses “are as green and clean as a diesel engine can be,” a characteristic that she adds “is important for our business as we see to reduce carbon emissions. We are very keen to maintain our green credentials as a public transport provider.”
Whitelaws has been working with Asset Alliance since 2015. The operator replaces its bus fleet every four to five years. “Each time we benchmark Asset Alliance Group against other firms, it comes out on top as the most competitive, making it our go-to provider,” adds Mrs Whitelaw.
“It is a professional organisation that consistently provides an excellent service, and we have come to have complete trust in it. Asset Alliance Group has also played a key role in finding the best deal for financing our buses bought on hire purchase, too.”
Adds Asset Alliance Group Sales Director, Bus and Coach, Darren Fitzpatrick: “Whitelaws has been a longstanding customer and we are delighted to continue our support of such a prominent operator in the Scottish coach and bus sector.” The new vehicles join a 36-strong coach and bus fleet.
