Commuter and school transport specialists Zeelo has announced booming ridership figures for its partnership with Tesco’s distribution centre in Goole.
The transit tech revealed that patronage for the staff service, which is operated by Les Holland Coach Travel, had grown by 672% over the past two years.
A recent survey of its users conducted by Zeelo found 93% of respondents said the service was an important reason for accepting their job. In addition, 81% said they wouldn’t be able to reach work without the service and 94% believed it improved their mental well-being at work.
The survey also found that 98% said they saved money and 92% saved time by means of the service.
Further afield, Zeelo reports that its services took 64,000 car journeys off the road in 2023, resulting in a reduction of 411 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Sam Ryan, CEO of Zeelo, says:”Zeelo’s partnership with Tesco exemplifies our commitment to providing innovative commuting solutions that not only benefit employees but also contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
“We are proud to play a pivotal role in enhancing the workplace experience at Tesco and look forward to continuing our journey towards greater accessibility, convenience, and environmental responsibility.”
Michael Holmes, Distribution Centre Manager at the Tesco Goole site, adds: “It’s been a great success for our colleagues, and for us.
“If I go back two years, we only had 600 Tesco colleagues, and what we have done with Zeelo is manage to recruit for Tesco, the agency and even our cleaning team to ensure we hit our headcount, which means we can hit volumes for the stores.”
