Coach operators scam email warning issued

Coach operators have been warned of a scam where a Dubai-based customer asks for money to be refunded against a booking that it has not yet paid for.

routeone has seen an email sent to an operator in the North West requesting a multi-coach movement. It was from Heathrow Airport to Liverpool extending for five days over Christmas.

The operator’s Managing Director says it has received other enquiries from the same address that were similar. They were followed by refund requests. That was despite no payment having been made in the first place.

On each occasion the firm has quickly seen the discrepancy, but it is making other coach operators aware that similar emails may come from what seem to be different sources.

The latest message, sent on Saturday 16 November, is from Aisha-Ra Group of Company (sic) based in Dubai Internet City.
