Skills Holidays has unveiled its new ‘Robin Hood’ coach at its open day held last Sunday (9 April).
The 34-seater Volvo Sunsundegui B8R is the latest edition to the Nottingham-based operator’s fleet, which was delivered in February.
The vehicle features an on-board kitchen complete with an oven and a microwave, as well as a fridge and a drinks machine.
Held at its Head Office in Bulwell, Skills’ passengers attended the open day to enjoy exclusive offers, live music for local duo Marlow & Smith, and cream tea-style refreshments.
Visitors were even given the chance to design their own tour with the possibility of winning a space on the coach if it becomes a reality.
An ice cream van was also on hand to keep visitors cool on what was the hottest day of the year so far.
Says Skills: “It was great to welcome all of our friends, old and new, over to our Head Office to celebrate with us at our April Open Day.
“Our customers left happy faced and with various new adventures booked with us to enjoy in the near future.
“We were all serenaded by music duo Marlow and Smith, kept entertained with the photos from the ‘#SkillsSelfie’ photobooth and stayed in good spirits thanks to the glorious sunny weather.
“The open day was a great success and we can’t wait to plan the next one.”
Also present at the open day was one of Skill’s 53-seater Scania Interlink HD ordered at last year’s Euro Bus Expo at the NEC, Birmingham.
Skills is a family-run business established in 1919 by Arthur Skill and is today managed by grandsons Nigel and Simon Skill, along with Roy Finch as Commercial Director and Peter Hallam as Operations Director.
