Following Stagecoach West’s takeover of South Gloucestershire Bus and Coach, Stertil Koni supplied 26 heavy-duty wireless mobile column lifts to the company’s Bristol workshop.
The 7,500kg type ST1075FWA lifts were delivered and commissioned with seven days. That ensured a seamless takeover and no service disruption.
Each column has the manufacturer’s “revolutionary” ebright Smart Control System. It allows operation of the columns individually, in pairs or in any other combination from any column in the set.
The ebright Smart Control System has been designed and developed to simplify operation “by providing maximum visual information about every lifting operation,” says Stertil Koni. It also shows how many columns in the set are being used and their battery status.
Says Stagecoach West Engineering Director Tom Large: “We needed to ensure that passengers were not adversely affected by our recent takeover of the previous operator. It was imperative that the lifts could be on site quickly.
“To have all 26 lifts up and running within a week was fantastic. We have a group contract in place with Steril Koni. That was agreed based on our previous experience of its excellent track record.”
