UrbanThings has appointed Adam Toone as Chief Executive Officer, three months after he joined the business as Chief Operating Officer.
The public transport technology company announced him in his previous role on 1 August after his 10 years as Digital Director at Arriva. He was also a member of the board of directors for Traveline, CoMoUK, and Project Coral.
UrbanThings founder Carl Partridge was CEO until the end of July but left the business after 10 years.
Most recently, Mr Toone was credited with with winning and launching several digital demand-responsive transport services across the UK and, for Arriva, introducing a new scheduling system for Arriva UK bus and bringing in multi-operator capping solutions. He previously had experience in IT sales, building up experience in launching new products.
Parent company Paragon ID UK says his new role, which he begins on 1 November, will see him setting a clear vision and strategy, focusing on customer delivery, financial performance and corporate social responsibility.

UrbanThings was the creator of bus times-checking app Bus Checker and produces branded passenger apps and data solutions for operators. The dedicated app for South Yorkshire’s multi-operator TravelMaster is among the interfaces for which it is responsible.
