ADL makes senior sales and marketing appointments

ADL makes sales and marketing appointments

Alexander Dennis (ADL) has made three senior appointments in its commercial team. The businesses says that those changes – all of which represent promotions from within – will make its sales and marketing activity “even more responsive to customers and stakeholders.”

Charlie Miller (pictured) steps up to the position of Retail Sales Director. He previously held the position of Senior Regional Sales Manager. In his new role, Mr Miller, and his team, will be responsible for working with independent operators in the UK and Ireland. He will assist with those businesses’ early steps into zero-emission vehicles and exploring opportunities to enabling more efficient coaches and buses in those markets.

Mat Lawrence is elevated to the newly formed post of Fleet Sales Director. He was formerly Business Development Director and will be responsible for working with major group customers in the UK and internationally on how those fleets can be transitioned to carbon neutrality in a long-term commercially viable way with Alexander Dennis products and service support.

In the third promotion, Debbie McCreath becomes Group Marketing Director. Ms McCreath will lead Alexander Dennis’s marketing, communications and public affairs work. She was formerly Marketing Communications and Public Affairs Manager.

The coach and bus manufacturer’s customer-centric function has been restructured under the leadership of Group Commercial Director Martin West. He joined from Scania UK earlier in 2022 with a mission to bring Alexander Dennis closer to its customers and partners to help the industry recover from challenges and drive the business towards sustainably decarbonising its vehicle parc.

Speaking about the promotions, Mr West says: “I am delighted to have been able to start to reshape the group’s commercial function in line with our vision for the business.

“I want us to reach the hearts and minds of our customers and their customers through targeted commercial activity that supports modal shift for long-term success of our entire industry, and I am so pleased to recruit talent from within our business with Charlie, Debbie and Mat to help bring this vision to life.

“It is still challenging times for the business. However, we are hugely optimistic about the future and our new products and services. Our new team are looking forward to meeting our industry colleagues to share all our exciting news.”
