East Yorkshire has shared images of its workers wearing colourful clothes over the Easter weekend in support of key workers.
Team members ditched their uniforms to return praise they have received from NHS and care workers, retail staff and teachers while keeping the country connected during the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.
The company’s engineering division meanwhile took part in the ‘clap for our carers’ and ‘clap for key workers’ initiatives at its Hull depot on Thursday (9 April).
East Yorkshire buses are still operating to special timetables catering to key workers and essential travel.
Says Ben Gilligan, East Yorkshire’s Area Director: “We were pleased to see so many of our drivers take part in this campaign to spread Easter cheer over the weekend, hopefully putting a smile on the faces of our passengers during a difficult time.
“Our whole team is going above and beyond to keep buses moving for those who need them most and we would like to thank them for their dedication.”
