FlixBus has promoted Rukia Ali to the newly created position of Stations Manager as part of its team working in Victoria Coach Station in London.
Ms Ali will oversee FlixBus’s operations at the node, including domestic and international journeys. That will involve supporting customers, drivers and other operational staff. She will also mentor and manage the team of FlixBus customer service agents there, as well as working with coach operator partners and representatives of Transport for London.
Originally from Djibouti and having lived in the Netherlands, Ms Ali’s fluency in Dutch means that the FlixBus team at Victoria Coach Station speaks a total of nine languages.
Commenting on her promotion, she says: “I am really excited to be stepping into a new role and helping my team to continue offering the best possible experience when travelling with FlixBus.
“Working in the UK’s busiest coach station is really exciting, and it is great to see more green FlixBus coaches coming through as our network grows in the UK and internationally.”
FlixBus UK’s operations team is majority female, with Team Lead of Operations Hayley Russell adding that the business is proud of the diversity among its Victoria Coach Station team. “Rukia has achieved so much in such a short space of time, and I hope that others can take inspiration from her example,” says Ms Russell.
“Rukia has shown a passion and a talent for exceptional customer service since her first day at FlixBus, and there is no better person to be stepping into this new role to guide the team and maintain the levels of excellence that we offer customers.
“We are proud to have a diverse team in the coach station and a majority female UK operations team at FlixBus. We will continue to strive to bring more women into the industry as we grow,” she concludes.
