North Wales operator Jones Holidays has celebrated its staff after they received the Community Champion Award – which recognises individuals, community groups and organisations that have been committed, proactive and have voluntarily contributed to helping local communities.

Jones Holidays drivers continued to assist the community through the pandemic by delivering prescriptions and food parcels in a ‘here to help’ campaign. 6,000 prescriptions and food parcels were delivered to vulnerable people across North Wales, with Jones Holidays estimating to have volunteered some 3,700 hours and driven over 35,000 miles.

Chris Owens, Managing Director at parent firm Alpine Travel, says: “We are all delighted to have received this Community Champion Award, and are genuinely touched to have been nominated. This will mean a great deal to all those who were involved in the Here to Help campaign that we embarked on at the beginning of lock down, and we are thrilled to have been able to help the community in the way that we have.”
