Maynes Coaches has gained a Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, acknowledging the Buckie operator’s ongoing commitment to supporting the armed forces community.
The Scheme recognises employers that demonstrate such outstanding backing for serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families. Bronze is part of a tiered award system that also includes Silver and Gold, highlighting increasing levels of dedication among employers across the UK.
Maynes notes how it accreditation onto the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme reflects the operator’s strong alignment with the values of the Armed Forces Covenant.
Adds Operations Director Kevin Mayne: “We are truly honoured to receive the Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
“Supporting the armed forces community is a responsibility we take seriously, and this recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to those who serve and their families. We look forward to strengthening our efforts even further in the year ahead.”
The Armed Forces Covenant is a national promise that those who serve or have served, along with their families, are treated with fairness, respect and understanding within society. It is underpinned by two core principles:
-
- No disadvantage: serving members of the armed forces, veterans and their families should not face disadvantages compared to other citizens when accessing public and commercial services
- Special consideration: additional support may be appropriate in certain cases, particularly for those who have been injured and bereaved through their service.
Listings on the gov.uk website of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme members across Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards compiled to November show that Maynes Coaches takes its place alongside a modest number of fellow coach and bus operators.
