After taking on the position of Managing Director for Stagecoach South West (SW) on an interim basis in November, Mike Watson will be taking on the role permanently from 3 February.
Mike has 25 years’ experience in the bus industry, including time in the same position previously from 2013-2015. Starting his career at London Transport’s bus section, Mike has worked at Go-Ahead and Arriva before joining Stagecoach in 2011.
Stagecoach Cheif Operating Officer, Mark Threapleton, says: “Mike has a strong background in leading successful operating companies and has previous experience of running our operations in the South West.
“We are pleased to be welcoming Mike back to the South West, and I wish him and his team the best for the future.”
Mike says: “I’ve really enjoyed being back in the South West and it’s been great to reunite with the team here.
“This is a really special part of the country in which to work, live and visit. I look forward to working with my team and our partners across the county.”
