Peter Bruton, whose father started Blueways Coaches, has died. He is survived by his son, Phil Bruton.
He was from a big coaching family dating from the 1950s. His father James Bruton started Blueways Coaches, which went on to import the first right-hand drive Neoplan into the UK in 1981. When new, it was used as the England football team coach.
The company went on to work for Disney, the FA, Ministry of Defence, London Sporting Clubs Casinos to name a few.
Peter took over the company in 1982 to carry on the legacy after his father’s death.
His brother, Jimmy Bruton, went on to start Guideline Coaches while brother Barry Bruton, decided to concentrate on mini coaches and limousines.
Since the 1940s, the family, including brothers and uncles, ran 16 companies, including Starduster Coaches, Parkway Coaches, Brutons Car Hire and Brutons Coaches.
