Stagecoach East has celebrated fundraising hero Captain Tom Moore and his new charitable foundation by naming a bus in his honour.
The double-decker, initially based in Captain Tom’s hometown of Bedford before it goes into service at Cambridge, Peterborough and elsewhere, features adverts promoting the veteran’s new foundation – as well as a life size image of the man himself.
Passengers will be encouraged to take selfies with the life-size image, while Stagecoach’s exact fare policy means any money over the price of a journey will go towards the Captain Tom Foundation.
Michelle Hargreaves, Stagecoach East Managing Director, says: “We are honoured to be supporting Captain Tom’s Foundation with this special liveried bus.
“What Captain Tom has achieved is something very special and, as a resident in the area we serve, we were keen to acknowledge that in a very visible way.”
Those wishing to donate to the Captain Tom Foundation can do so here.
