Stagecoach South Wales has replaced the messages on its Merthyr Tydfil fleet to read ‘Happy Birthday Captain Tom’ with the service number 100 in celebration of the centenary birthday of Thomas Moore.
The war veteran captured the hearts of the nation with his fundraising walk and has since raised over £29m for NHS charities.
Three Stagecoach buses will tonight (30 April) drive to the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil to applaud carers and display their message to Captain Tom Moore, alongside other messages of thanks to the NHS and key workers.
