Transdev Blazefield has promoted two managers as part of what the operator says is an example of its commitment to nurturing young talent.
Matt Burley, 29, (pictured, right) has been elevated to the role of Commercial Manager. He was formerly Ticketing and Systems Manager, having joined from Trentbarton in 2016. Mr Burley first drove buses for Transdev Blazefield before becoming Commercial Assistant. Among the tasks he led were the expansion of onboard audio announcements and the introduction of new ticket machines in 2018.
Alex Spencer, 30, (pictured, left) is now Network Manager. He joined the business from university in 2014 as Commercial Assistant and subsequently became a scheduler.
Mr Burley says that one of his priorities is the provision of accurate and timely information to current and potential customers. Mr Spencer plans to build on existing strong patronage return.
Speaking about the appointments, Transdev Blazefield CEO Alex Hornby says: “Both promotions show our continuing commitment to develop the best talent within our team – including via our industry-leading Step Up programme, which supports colleagues in gaining vital experience beyond their personal comfort zone.
“Alex and Matt share a clear passion for making bus travel amazing for our customers, and a desire to grow their experience with us. I have no doubt that both have the skills, experience and focus to achieve further success as we look to grow in 2023 and beyond.”
