Bournemouth operator Yellow Buses has personally delivered the Destination Awards for the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) area despite the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
The company was named headline sponsor of the prize giving night, which celebrates excellence in every sector that makes up the tourism offer locally and was cancelled due to the outbreak.
Yellow Buses was undeterred however and worked with officers from BCP council to personally delivery the awards to the 15 gold winners of each category.
“As a locally owned company, it was important for us to celebrate the positive contribution that local businesses and people make to the vibrant tourism scene here in the BCP area,” says Managing Director of Yellow Buses David Squire. “We were delighted to take the awards to the winners as they couldn’t come to us.”
The specially-decorated Destination Awards bus, driven by Coach Sales Executive Jay Thornton, together with David and Marketing and Sales Manager Fiona Harwood, visited businesses across the BCP area. It represented hotels, bars, the night time economy and even a dog-wash, reflecting the different sectors that add to the local tourism offering.
All were worthy winners, the company says, and enjoyed the presence of a Yellow Bus with appropriate vinyls outside their premises.
