Yellow Buses driver John Sedgwick had announced his retirement after 45 years with the company, but was then persuaded to return and drive its open-top buses during the summer.
After leaving the RAF, John joined Yellow Buses as a conductor before training as a driver. The 73-year-old was also the driver of the staff bus.
John says: “My wife Eileen would drive me in at 0230hrs in the morning so I could drive the staff bus.
“It’s been a great job and has paid my mortgage and I’ll be back for the summer season.”
