CPT President Ian Luckett has expressed confidence that the industry’s concerns about the proposed Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in London, planned to start in two years time and requiring all vehicles to be Euro 6, are being heard.
Speaking to the CPT’s Annual Dinner he said: “CPT recently secured a meeting with Val Shawcross, the Deputy Mayor of London, which I attended with CPT CEO Simon Posner and Operations Director Stephen Smith.
“We made her very aware of the impact the forthcoming ULEZ proposals will have.
“I genuinely believe that she listened to the concerns we set out for all CPT members, but especially the ones who are based in, or very near, the changing LEZ and ULEZ zones.
“Their businesses will be significantly affected by these changes and I am confident that she now understands to what extent these London taxpayers’ businesses will be damaged.”
