Alliance Transport Technologies ‘strives to improve air quality’ with retrofitting

Emissions upgrades and retrofit specialist Alliance Transport Technologies (ATT) says its retrofit programme is playing a crucial role in the fight against air pollution in cities across the UK.

Alongside its emissions control partner HJS and a nationwide team of OEM-level trained engineers, ATT has retrofitted more than 1,000 systems in the UK. Its clients include some of the country’s largest bus operators including Arriva, Stagecoach, Metroline, London United and Tower Transit.

Work includes retrofitting selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, which utilise emissions control technology to inject a reductant agent through a catalyst into the exhaust stream of a diesel engine.

Also known as ‘AdBlue’, the reductant converts oxides into nitrogen, water and small amounts of carbon dioxide.

As regulations and clean air zones add pressure to fleet operators, ATT says the reductants help vehicles to meet the legislation and assist in the reduction of harmful emissions.
