BAE Systems give green power with smart electric hybrid propulsion systems

The Series-E and Series-ER are two electric hybrid solutions from BAE Systems offering zero-emissions operations.

BAE Systems says its smart Series-E drivetrain technology powers all of a bus’s accessories (such as air conditioning, compressors, and power steering) and reduces engine idling with a stop-start function.

The internal combustion engine, which charges the batteries, can be turned off for short distances, completely removing emissions when needed.

The Series-ER offers a higher capacity energy storage system allowing the vehicle to operate with the engine switched off for 35% of the time, expanding low and zero-emission travel options.

BAE Systems says it can be implemented without high infrastructure costs. Geofencing allows electric-hybrid mode to be engaged and disengaged automatically. The company will send a certified Application Engineer along with its systems to ensure proper integration, training and offer on-site technical advice.
