ContiRe tyre retread programme can cut fleet costs

Continental says its ContiLifeCycle tyre programme, which offers high-quality retreads under the ContiRe name, reduces an operator’s costs and its environmental impact.

A retread saves 70-80% of the materials required in the manufacture of a new tyre. Energy used during production is reduced by up to 70% and retreading also cuts the scrapping, export and incineration of worn-out tyres.

Retreading a tyre prevents the release of 182kg of CO2 into the atmosphere. The lower profile thickness of a retread reduces both rolling resistance and fuel consumption.
