CycleEye, developed by Bristol Engineering company Fusion Processing, is to be fitted to all First’s buses used on the new Bristol MetroBus network.
It uses radar and camera sensors to identify cyclists in potentially dangerous situations in close proximity to the bus, and then gives an audible alert to the driver.
The technology was first trialled on some of First Bristol’s buses in June 2014, enbaling Fusion to develop its product.
