Devon County Council leverages Omnibus suite from Velociti Solutions

Devon County Council has used Bus Service Improvement Plan funding to streamline timetable production and publication via implementation of the Omnibus software suite from Velociti Solutions.

Such a move has improved timetable efficiency, accuracy and information provision, and is part of the local authority’s commitment to increasing bus usage in Devon.

By leveraging the timetabling software, it has been able to import, generate and manage bus timetables from a centralised repository, ensuring a consistent, accurate dataset for all outputs and enabling quick, seamless exports.

Deployment of Velociti’s timetable display software has streamlined publicity development by replacing labour-intensive tasks with an efficient solution. Additionally, integration of TransXChange Tools has provided effortless access to and export of transport data files in the correct format.

Delivered via the Omnibus platform, the software ensures that staff have secure, anytime and anywhere access to a centralised system. The cloud-based approach has enhanced team collaboration, reduced the risk of data loss, and supported what Velociti says is more agile workflows.

Adds a spokesperson for Devon County Council: “The implementation of the Omnibus software suite has been transformative for us. Previously, we manually produced more than 100 key stop roadside timetable displays and PDFs for online upload, which was time consuming.

“With the timetabling and display publishing software, we have saved countless hours, reduced errors, and ensured higher accuracy. This efficiency has allowed our team to focus on enhancing the quality of services we provide to the public, ultimately benefiting the entire community.”

Says Velociti Solutions Chief Customer Officer Nick Brookes: “We are delighted to partner with Devon County Council to enhance its passenger transport information services.

“Our solutions are designed to significantly reduce the time and resources required for timetable production and publicity while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and data integrity.

“By implementing our scheduling suite, Devon County Council has been able to provide timely and precise information to residents, ultimately improving the overall travel experience.”
