Peoplesbus has taken delivery of a further set of Stertil Koni ST1074FWA mobile column lifts. The purchase takes to two the number of sets with the Aintree operator, which continues with a new green and yellow identity after previously selling its fleet and bus services to Stagecoach in 2023.
Four wireless columns make up the set, each with a safe lifting capacity of 7,500kg. They are powered by long-life batteries that require charging no more often than once per week on average. Power is only used to raise the lifts, minimising energy consumption. Charging can be done via a 230v single-phase supply.
Each column has the Stertil Koni ebright Smart Control System. It allows workshop staff to operate them individually, in pairs or in any other combination, and from any column in the set. Utilised are full-colour touch-screen consoles, and the supplier says that maximum visual information is provided about every lifting operation.
Other information shared with users is how many columns in the set are being used, plus the battery status of each. The units are fitted with an independent, always-active mechanical locking system. That allows technicians to secure the lifts to prevent a vehicle from being lowered inadvertently.
Stertil Koni says that with an absence of cables, the ST10751FWA lifts are easy and rapid to set up. They come with adjustable-width forks, which makes them suitable for lifting vehicles with different tyre sizes, giving maximum versatility in a workshop.
