Red Group with its subsidiaries Redline Buses and Red Rose Travel has worked with supplier Velociti Solutions to implement a cloud-based scheduling system to drive a further phase of growth.

That has seen the adoption of the Omnibus software suite to streamline operations. The group runs a mixture of commercial and contracted services in the Home Counties. Redline has expanded its presence in Aylesbury following service reductions by another operator, while Red Rose has also adjusted its coverage.

Red Group is using the Omnibus platform’s advanced modules, including timetabling, vehicle scheduling and mapping, to compile optimised schedules and to prepare data-driven and cost-effective scenarios for tendering.

The group is also implementing data sharing “to streamline the exchange of public transport timetable and schedule information,” Velociti Solutions says.

Speaking about the adoption, Red Group Transport Operations Manager Mohammed Ismail says: “With a small team, we needed a solution that is easy to use and trusted by larger bus operators.

“Velociti Solutions’ Omnibus software suite offers just that – enabling us to improve efficiency and reduce costs, and by providing the capability to easily prepare competitive bids for new contracts as we scale.”

Adds Velociti Solutions Chief Customer Officer Nick Brookes: “By integrating our Omnibus software suite, Red Group has gained a scalable solution that enhances efficiency and strengthens the ability to make data-driven decisions.

“This partnership positions Red Group for future growth with greater agility, ensuring competitiveness and responsiveness to market demands.”
