Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has incorporated a journey planner from SkedGo into its website. The product offers members of the public a wide variety of mobility options, including bus, train and tram. They can also see their CO2 output for each trip and prioritise journeys based on carbon emissions, time, convenience and cost.
Says SkedGo CEO John Nuutinen: “Mobility as a Service (MaaS) technology is a fundamental tool to reduce air pollution. Our journey planner provides authorities and local government with the data needed to make greener and sustainable travel a realistic goal.
“MaaS technology has proven its success already and we are looking forward to supporting TfGM on its sustainability objectives. We believe that our journey planning technology can encourage the use of public transport and increase cycling and walking to ensure that UK cities become healthier, greener and more productive.”
The contract between SkedGo and TfGM follows the supplier’s ongoing work with Leicester City Council to promote active travel as part of a Choose How You Move initiative. SkedGo was founded in 2009 and is incorporated in Australia and Germany, with additional teams based in Argentina, the UK and Vietnam.
The supplier’s technology currently integrates over 3,500 transport service providers globally.
