Stoneridge has launched its SE5000 Connekt smart tachograph after receiving type approval on 18 April.
The new tachograph will help fleets and drivers to comply with hours legislation and the Working Time Directive, and it includes a host of advanced functionality.
A Global Navigation Satellite System module records the vehicle’s location at the start and end of a journey, and updates occur every three hours.
A Dedicated Short-Range Communication allows remote access by roadside inspection officers, meaning that compliant drivers will not be stopped unnecessarily.
