At the CV Show, Koller Engineering unveiled a device that prevents users or attendants from falling off wheelchair lifts.
A barrier locks into a small tracking rail at the rear of the lift. Two straps are then secured on J-hooks at the opposite end, creating a three-sided barrier.
“The lift is likely to be the most common site of accidents on a minibus. With this product a physical barrier is created,” says Sales Manager Andrew Nurrish.
The unit has been pull tested to 800kg and it can be stored in the vehicle’s tracking when not in use. Retail price is £250 including straps and it is fully portable between vehicles.
