I read with interest Martin Hearson's letter [routeone/Opinion/23 May] regarding MoT exemption for coaches and buses that are more than 40 years old.
As I read it Martin is not altogether correct on his assumption.
It is only not for hire or reward, historic-licenced vehicles that will be exempt, not those used commercially for hire or reward.
However, pre-1960 commercially operated coaches and buses do remain MoT exempt.
