Australian-owned Tower Transit Group has won ‘International Business of the Year’ at the British Expertise International Awards.
It edged out finalists Arup and Turner & Townsend to clinch the award, the highest honour presented.
The firm runs contracted routes in London, along with coach operator Impact Group in west London and Cambridgeshire-based coach and bus operator Whippet. It also won 26 contracted routes in Singapore in 2015.
Judged by a distinguished panel which included HRH the Duke of Gloucester, the Department for International Trade’s Head of Infrastructure Brian Gallagher and the World Bank’s Senior External Affairs Counsellor to the UK and Ireland Andrew Felton, Tower Transit
Says Tower Transit’s Group CEO Adam Leishman: “It is a distinct honour for us to be in the company of two of the most renowned engineering and construction firms in the world.
“In contrast, Tower Transit started in 2013 as a small operator of public buses in London. What we’ve managed to achieve since then is hugely disproportionate to the size and brief history of the Tower Transit Group,”
“In the past four years, we’ve pursued with laser focus the vision of being the most respected public transport operator in the world’s top cities.
“In 2015, up against the world’s biggest bus operators, Tower Transit was awarded Singapore’s first competitively tendered bus operations contract. We’re bringing new thinking to an old industry, we’ve won awards for building a winning corporate culture and we’re making forays into exciting new markets,” he said.
The ‘International Business of the Year’ award comes just over a month after Tower Transit was awarded ‘Best Workplace Culture & Engagement’ at the HRM Awards in Singapore.
