Long-standing employees at Stagecoach Yorkshire have been honoured for their ‘decades of dedication’ at a special event after clocking up nearly a millennium of combined service.

Employees at the operator were praised for their combined service of 941 years across the company’s depots in Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield and Chesterfield.

Among the employees singled out for long service accolades at the presentation ceremony were driver John Bacon from the Chesterfield depot who celebrated reaching 45 years of service to the company; Driver Thomas Hails from the Chesterfield depot was celebrated for 40 years’ service; and Rawmarsh-based driver John Creber for 35 years.

Other employees praised were the individual ‘Stars of the Month’ including Steve Hickling – October’s Star of the Month who was awarded Star of the Year.

Matt Davies, MD of Stagecoach says: “Our staff are our lifeblood and we value all our people highly.”
