Job Title: Commercial Vehicle Workshop Manager (Multi-Site Fleet Operation)
Location: Based in Wincanton – regular travel to Yeovil & Portland
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 (1-hour lunch)
Job Summary:
We’re seeking a Commercial Vehicle Workshop Manager to lead operations across multiple sites in a busy transport environment. Based in Wincanton, you’ll also visit Portland (1 day/week), Yeovil (half day/week.
If you’re a hands-on leader or a senior technician ready for your next step, this could be your ideal role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, supervise and support mechanics daily and our workshop administrator
- Allocate workloads and approve job cards
- Manage parts ordering and inventory
- Coordinate vehicle breakdown responses
- Oversee MOT prep, quality checks, and compliance
- Monitor workshop expenditure and performance
- Maintain health & safety and training schedules
- Use digital systems (90% paperless – tablets for job cards, defects, etc.)

Requirements:
- Workshop or fleet management experience (preferred)
- Strong technical knowledge of PCV or HGV commercial vehicles
- Effective communicator with a solution-first mindset
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations
- Comfortable using workshop management software and tablets
