Unite drivers staged a sixth day of strikes at Arriva North West on Monday (13 November) and are striking on 20/27 November.

Season ticket holders could travel on Stagecoach Merseyside buses, Merseyrail and Northern Rail.

All Arriva’s Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and  Cheshire networks are affected, with the exception of Wrexham and Chester depot.

Says Regional MD Phil Stone: "We held a further meeting with the Unions last week to try to reach a pay settlement. We requested that ACAS was present to help keep the talks on track; the Union turned this offer down.

“It is extremely disappointing that despite making an improved pay offer for all depots of up to 2.75% the Union increased its demands from an average of 2.85% to 3.15% for the 2017 pay award.

“The Union seems determined to cause further disruption to our passengers.”
