Make people aware of the struggles the industry face

I pose a question to all operators: How many of you would bring cities and Westminster to a standstill for a day to raise awareness of the affect that the T charge, LEZs and CAZs will have on operators?

I have raised this issue a few times now and never had a serious answer. What would the CO2 emissions be for a one 53-seater coach compared to cars carrying the same amount of people? Surely a coach is better in every way.

And surely penalising coach companies will have a significant impact on everyone in the country – all my schools and private hires will now have to pay £100 more on top of the price for city trips.

Yes, operators can buy new vehicles or possibly retrofit each vehicle, but either way the bottom line price must go up.

I'm starting to feel there may be quite a few of us that could at least start the ball rolling and hopefully gather pace with Don’t Travel Empty and a few big operators.

If you want to help make our voices heard and hopefully help all of us in the process, email support@donttravelempty.com
