Transport for Wales (TfW) will deploy the Mosaiq Transit Intelligence Suite from Snapper Services on a national basis to support public transport operations across the country as work progresses on a planned rollout of bus franchising.
The platform will allow TfW to better analyse operational data and it will also inform ongoing network improvements and decision-making, according to the supplier.
The body selected Snapper Services and Mosaiq for its ability to provide scalable, data-driven insights to support the evolving TfW strategy, including franchising preparations.
Says Executive Director for Regional Transport and Integration Lee Robinson: “We are looking forward to working with Snapper Services and digging into some of the data to help inform better public transport solutions for people in Wales.”
Snapper adds that the partnership is a significant step towards more responsive, evidence-led public transport planning and represents a model for how data can drive smarter services at a national scale.
The Mosaiq platform includes tools that enable public transport authorities and operators to identify inefficiencies across routes, extend their capabilities, and have what Snapper says is “complete visibility over their operations.”
Comments Snapper Chief Revenue Officer Jon Salmon: “We are proud to be working with Transport for Wales on a project of this scale and importance.
“As someone with strong ties to Wales, it is especially meaningful to be supporting improvements to public transport here. This is testament to the strength of our technology and the collaborative spirit of our team.”
