New model from Treka to debut as MAN and Mellor also prepare to debut range updates. The supplier market also set to be strong at the trade show to be held at the NEC Birmingham

Products and vehicles from the minibus industry will be at this year’s CV Show, to be held at the NEC Birmingham from 30 April-2 May.

Treka Bus (stand 5C95) will launch the Everyday, a small accessible minibus that complements its established range. While Treka has not revealed which base vehicle(s) the Everyday is built on, it says that it will be finished to the same standards as its other models and come with a seven-year warranty.

New Orion E

Mellor (5C10 and 5D70) will display the next generation of its zero-emission Orion E minibus. A new 96kW motor allows hill climbing to 25% at 5,000kg GVW, and a maximum full-load range of over 100 miles with the climate control system in use.

A further EV at the CV Show will be from LDV. Although the EV80 will be shown in van form, it can be supplied as a minibus by LDV UK and Ireland. A 120-mile range is possible, and a full charge can be accomplished in 90 minutes.

Following up its recent appearance at the UK Coach rally will be a TGE minibus, to be shown by MAN Truck and Bus (5D10). The demonstrator is a 16-seat high-floor accessible model that has been converted by Minibus Options. It can carry up to two wheelchair users.

The TGE on show has a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine developing 180bhp and it comes with a GVW of 5,000kg. MAN is working on other passenger-carrying examples of the model.

Suppliers on show

Suppliers will also be prominent. Koller (5G42) will focus on its Fall Stop device. It is designed to prevent falls from wheelchair lifts, and it has been designed following market research. Weighing 3.5kg, Fall Stops clips into the lift, creating a barrier.

Treka Bus will unveil the compact Everyday accessible minibus at CV Show

Koller will also exhibit wheelchair restraints, including the Excel 120 combined restraint and passenger harness.

Drive-Rite and Glide-Ride (5C85) will present suspension systems. On display will be a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will full air suspension, and demonstrations of the Intelliride system will also be available.

Intelliride is an automatic suspension management system. A controller continually monitors loads from road shocks and obstacles “and always sets the air suspension perfectly,” the companies say.

Eberspächer (5D70) will show heating and climate control products that suit minicoaches and minibuses. Among them will be the latest generation Airtronic D2L and D4L heater.

Energy and efficiency improvements with the Aitronic D2L and D4L models have been well-received, says Eberspächer. The EasyStart Pro intelligent control unit will also be on display. It is a dash-mounted item that can be used in conjunction with EasyStart Web, an internet-based control unit.

Numerous other suppliers in many fields, will be at the CV Show. Entry is free. You can register at www.cvshow.com
