A total of 21 new Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400s will join Stagecoach in Oxfordshire’s fleet this summer.
The new buses, worth over £5.m, will be used on the S1 and S2 routes, operating between Witney and Oxford.
Stagecoach Oxford Managing Director Chris Coleman says: “This is a large investment for the county which enables us to deliver even cleaner, newer buses with improved customer facilities.”
The Enviro400s will replace the current Stagecoach Gold fleet which were introduced 10 years ago.
Mr Coleman adds: “We are immensely proud of the service we operate between Witney and Oxford on the S1 and S2 routes.
“This was the first route to offer customers a Stagecoach Gold service in 2009 so we’re delighted that we’re following tradition and launching our new fleet with added customer facilities on the very same bus routes.
“The most recent Bus Passenger Satisfaction Survey reported that 94% of Stagecoach customers in Oxfordshire were satisfied with their Stagecoach experience. This is a huge accolade and one which we hope is cemented further by this investment.”
The buses are being introduced as part of a £90m Stagecoach nationwide coach and bus investment and are planned to go into service from August.
