National Express has announced the finalists of its Driving Design competition, now open to a public vote.

The operator had invited aspiring artists to design a livery for a 14m National Express coach.

The winner will receive a 12-month coach pass, £500, two tickets to Hampshire's Boomtown Fair, and a one-to-one development day with an artist.

The finalists are:

  • Ben Watson, 27, from Warrington
  • Cephas Natuf, 17, from Manchester
  • Jordan Sallis, 23, from Pontypool
  • Sarah J Singleton, 22, Darwen
  • Sergej Komkov, 27, from Hull
  • Sky Griffiths, 19, Bristol
  • Tom Scott, 18, from London
  • Tomekah George, 21, from Sheffield.

Chris Hardy, Managing Director at National Express, says: “I am extremely pleased with the high standard of entries we have had in for this competition. Shortlisting them down to just eight was a tricky task.

“The online public vote is open until 15 July so we would encourage people to choose a favourite.

“This competition heavily supports our Youth Promise which we feel very passionately about. We are a big brand with a national reach, and we want to use this to give young talent a platform that they can be proud of.”
