Coach driver takes on Mt. Kilimanjaro

I am a coach driver for PC Coaches of Lincoln and next month I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for St Barnabas Hospice Trust because they do a fantastic job in the local community.

While I was a serving soldier, I participated in several adventurous challenges including a seven-day climb of Mont Blanc on ice glaciers, a parachute training course and several parachute jumps.

Now I've reached the grand old age of 60, I've decided to take on one of the world’s biggest challenges.

I have been training for the last 10 months. With kind permission from my family I am completely self-funding this adventure, but I am hoping to raise funds for a well-deserving local charity.

I have chosen St Barnabas for several reasons; the main reason is it's a local charity in my home town. Even though I have no personal connection with St Barnabas I know that the organisation does a fantastic job in the community and it deserves all the help that can be offered to them.

To quote a phrase from a well-known supermarket ‘every little helps’, and I intend to help as much as I can.
