Transdev and the Yorkshire Post have teamed up to create a specially liveried ‘Yorkshire heroes’ bus as a reminder to those across the county of the hard work of NHS staff and key workers.
Key workers and NHS staff from across Yorkshire appear on the side of the ‘Yorkshire heroes’ bus, including members of York College, who together have produced safety visors for the NHS. Transdev’s own teams in driving, engineering and support are celebrated on the back of the bus.
Transdev is producing a series of ‘hero picture messages featuring key workers’ on the side of its Coastliner buses, supported by The Yorkshire Post.
The bus is one of several ‘heroes buses’ introduced by Transdev during the pandemic to celebrate the heroes of local communities.
Transdev CEO Alex Hornby says: “As key workers themselves, our teams at York and Malton know how important it is to help others who need to make a journey by bus. Thanks to them, our buses are clean, safe and ready to go.
“There are many unsung heroes who deserve our community’s thanks for their contribution throughout the pandemic, so we’re recognising them by featuring their photos on our ‘Yorkshire heroes’ bus, along with the jobs they do – including our amazing NHS workers and those who support them.”
The Yorkshire heroes bus will travel across Leeds, York and to the North Yorkshire coast on the award-winning Coastliner route.
