Cardiff Bus has renewed its app and website contract with Passenger for another three years.
The continued collaboration will allow the companies to bring further technology developments to passengers, which more recently have included pausing tickets and real-time capacity checking to assist users during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
Commercial Director for Cardiff Bus Gareth Stevens says: āPassenger, and our partnership with it, is an essential service to us. We communicate with customers via our Passenger app and website and see the benefits of its products every day.
āIn difficult situations, whether a sudden service disruption or during the current public health emergency, we have great trust in our partnership with Passenger. The value of being able to share information quickly and easily with our customers is crucial to keeping our services and users moving.ā
The two companies have worked together since 2017. The partnership has allowed Cardiff Busā digital offering to include āfirst and last mileā travel solutions, integrating with bike share scheme nextbike, as well as live bus tracking and bilingual translations.
Adds Mr Stevens: āAt Cardiff Bus, we strive to make it easy for people to plan and pay for their bus journeys. We can do that, in part, thanks to Passenger. It brings a huge amount of knowledge to the table but is always ready to listen to our ideas and feedback. We know we are working together towards a common goal and are very happy to be continuing to partner with the one of the best multi-platform suppliers working in the bus industry – and canāt wait to see what we can bring to our service users over the next three yearsā.
Passenger supplies apps and websites to over 20 UK bus operators and recently launched multi-operator platform myTrip, tailored to smaller operators.
