Former Alexander Dennis Director Keith Watson has joined provider of technology based turnkey EV fleet solutions EO Charging to lead its new electric bus division. The bus-specific team will function alongside a dedicated software platform as part of what the supplier says is an “ambition to become the global leader in electric fleet vehicle charging.”
EO says that its diversification will “support the electrification of bus fleets and the drive by local and national governments to reach clean air targets.”
The supplier’s charge point and depot management software includes a variety of features, including charge point state and performance; vehicle tracking and data; depot view; remote diagnostics and resolution; and support and maintenance.
That software will integrate with any open charge point protocol (OCPP) compliant charge point, not just EO’s own charging hardware/ EO claims it is the UK’s first OCPP compliant electric bus software solution.
Mr Watson joins EO Charging having most recently been Customer Development Director at ADL. He says: “Moving to a zero-emission fleet is now the number one priority for bus operators around the world. Government and local authorities (LAs) have set ambitious net-zero targets and there is mounting pressure from the public on the need for cleaner air in our cities.
“We know that a one-size-fits-all approach to electrification does not work for bus operators, and we are building a solution that can adapt to any customer.”
EO Charging CEO Charlie Jardine adds that the launch of a battery-electric bus division “is an important next step on our mission to become the global leader in charging electric car, van, truck and bus fleets.” He continues: “Governments, LAs and industry are all making a solid push to decarbonise. Our electric bus division, along with our software, is the perfect partner to all entities with the ambition of eliminating emissions.”
