Swans Travel of Chadderton has taken delivery of its initial Yutong TCe12 battery-electric coach. It is the first such vehicle for an operator in North West England.
The TCe12 has been supplied by Pelican Bus and Coach and it has arrived with Swans following display at the Euro Bus Expo trade show in November.
It will enter service on a corporate contract in January 2023. In addition to the coach, Swans Travel has purchased a 42kW portable charger to go with the TCe12. That unit is connected to a three-phase, 63A power outlet.
As already advised by Swans, a second TCe12 is on order for delivery in 2023. The first coach has debuted a revised brand for the Greater Manchester business, which will be rolled out across the remainder of its fleet. Pelican Area Sales Manager Amelia Crump handled the deal.
