Obituary: Edwin Marsh, former Newport Transport MD

Former Newport Transport Managing Director Edwin Marsh died on 21 April. He was 83. Mr Marsh led the Welsh municipal between 1988 and 2001 prior to his retirement, although he retained an interest beyond that date via the Association of Local Bus Managers.

“Edwin was well known and liked by his peers and the industry as a whole,” says Newport Transport Commercial and Projects Manager Colin Thomas, who worked with Mr Marsh at the operator. Newport Transport will name one of its battery-electric buses after Mr Marsh as a mark of respect and in recognition of his time with the operator.

Mr Marsh’s funeral will be held at 1415hrs on Tuesday 30 May at Cardiff Thornhill Crematorium, Thornhill Road, Rhiwbina, CF14 9UA. The satellite navigation postcode is CF14 6RG.
